Love her or hate her

I absolutely adore Anna Sahlene. More than anything it's her perseverence. No one seems to like her that much except for me although the bitch just keeps going.

I love the middle of road pop that this fabulous diva churns out. Her last flop single 'Brief and Beautiful' didn't really set the charts alight and the album it was the lead single on is yet to surface. However, she has added some great new tracks to her myspace page recently.

Although Sahlene is mostly remembered for her Eurovision and Melodifestivalen output she has had some great records. 'Photograph' is a gorgeous song which showcases Sahlene's amazing voice and is to me one of her best songs. Watch and enjoy!

La Boozer

Whilst my esteemed colleague gets bogged down in the 'La Voix' plagiarism row I was too busy enjoying the after show footage of Malena's drunken camp performance of the said number at the After Show Party. Someone fetch this girl another drink!!

The allegations run deeper...

After digging around a bit - after all a bit of investigative journalism never harmed noone guvna - I found out that the alleged plagiarism by Kempe against Puccini's Nessun Dorma might in fact go much further - the Wikipedia article for Nessun Dorma states the following interesting information:

"Adaptations of the aria to other musical genres include a heavy metal version by Manowar in their album Warriors of the World, and Vincero, an opera/disco fusion by Fredrik Kempe. Vincero is also used for the popular line dance Trust me!"

So it turns out Kempe's churned out Nessun Dorma clones in the past too - nothing too shocking there of course, but then he didn't try to enter Vincero in a European music competition for original compositions. This seems to be getting deeper by the second; could Sweden be headed the way of Georgia?
